Members in Transition

Are You In Between Positions?

The Association offers support for Members who have left a position and are actively moving towards another.

Support services and opportunities include:

  • Waiving memberships fees for one year
  • Engage with a Mentor to keep connected and get tips on how to transition successfully
  • 50% discount on workshop registration fees

Make sure you let the OMAA Executive Director know of your circumstances and we will keep in contact to see where the Association can be of assistance.

Note: A MIT Working Group has been convened to make recommendations on how we might be able to provide some additional supports to those MITs making the transition back into full municipal employment.

lnterim CAO List

Are you looking for an Interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) role?

OMAA provides a list for municipalities experiencing a transition as a good will initiative. Situations differ in terms of the experience of the candidate, the municipality, the risks, current market conditions, and other factors. Those interested in adding their name to the list must be an OMAA member in good standing who adheres to our Code of Ethics, and have at least 10 years of municipal experience—ideally 5+ as a CAO. See our Interim CAO page for more info.
